38th Annual Cobia "Big Fish" Tournament - June 4th & 5th 2022 Rules
(1) I.G.F.A RULES WILL GOVERN. You will get a copy of these rules in your Captain's Bucket and we will answer any questions regarding rules at the Captain's Meeting on Friday June 3rd from 4:00PM - 7:00PM at Crump's Landing of Homosassa. The captain (or a crew member) of each boat will sign an acknowledgement of receipt and acceptance of the rules governing the Cobia “Big Fish” Tournament at the time of application or registration. Registration will be held Friday June 4th beginning at 5:00PM. NOTE: Attendance is MANDATORY for at least ONE crew member from each boat at the Captain's Meeting.
(2) Maximum Line Test 80#. Maximum of 6 lines in the water at any one time.
(3) Boats may leave by the Homosassa River or Crystal River, but must return by boat directly to the Crump's Landing Kiwanis Weigh Station on the Homosassa River for weigh in for that day's catch. Fish brought in by vehicle will be disqualified. Check-out is 7:00am-9:00am from Crump’s Landing or Twin Rivers Marina for both days. Weigh-in is 12:00pm-4:00pm both days of the tournament.
(4) If either Saturday's or Sunday's fishing is cancelled due to bad weather and only one day is fished, the tournament will be over and the results will be determined from the one day of fishing. If both days are lost to weather, the Tournament will be rescheduled for June 11th & 12th, 2022 or dates to be determined by the Tournament Committee. There will be no refunds of entry fee once paid.
(5) All fish must be of legal size. Any fish which has been altered, as judged by the committee, will be disqualified. We encourage the release of small or unwanted fish.
(6) All tournament boats must display their tournament Boat Number from check-out to check-in.
(7) In case of a tie, the monies will be added together and divided.
(8) All fish must be hooked, fought and caught on a rod and manual reel by an unassisted angler. An assisting angler may touch the leader as long as no other part of the rod, reel or line is touched. (IGFA Rule #1 under Angling Regulations)
(9) FISHING HOURS - Both days Check Out Safe Light (as determined by tournament committee). Check In 4:00PM (latest).

FAILURE TO CHECK OUT, OR CHECK IN BY 4:00 PM DEADLINE WILL DISQUALIFY THAT DAY'S CATCH!
The time shall be kept by the Committee.
Anyone arriving after the 4:00 pm deadline will be disqualified. CLARIFICATION: The 4:00 pm deadline means that at 4:00 pm or earlier, you are at the dock for weigh-in or Already In Line!
In sight of the dock is not in line!
(10) Entry Fees & Registration - All Entry fees must be in by 7:00PM Friday, June 3rd unless specifically approved by the tournament committee. Registrations by Mail must be received no later than Wednesday, June 1st ,2022. Registrations can also be dropped off at Riverhaven Marina, MacRae's of Homosassa or Bluewater Bait & Tackle before Friday May 20TH ,2022. Registrations after May 28TH ,2022 can be dropped off at the Captain's Meeting. (Maximum 200 Boats).
(11) Decisions by the Cobia/Kiwanis Tournament Committee, in any and all matters, are final and binding.
(12) No boat can win more than one "Cobia" award, but can win a Cobia award and still be eligible for the Grouper, Speckled Trout and Redfish awards. One Prize per Species per Boat.
(13) Check out location: Crump's Landing (Homosassa River) or down the canal, at Twin Rivers Marina (Crystal River).
